I read an article in this month's Wired stating that blogging is so passé... it's all about micro-blogging now. From an evolutionary point, I fully agree but from a business point of view it's not so OK.
In a business context, current 2.0 technologies are only used in small doses... last week I even received an email with the subject "should your CEO be blogging?". Basically, in an updated version this should read now as "should your CEO be twittering".
We all know that most enterprises are no innovators when it comes to adopting new technologies but this puts us - new media consultants - in an awkward position. For years, we have been telling our customers to become more 2.0 and now that we finally have their attention... it's all passé.
Anyway, have to keep it short (practice what you preach) but it's definitely an interesting topic for the web 2.0 summit I will be attending this week in San Francisco. Will keep ya all informed... through micro-blogging of course.
Yours sincerely
