Buzzword Bingo

My friends always tell me that I am very good at buzzword bingo (well, actually they call it bull@&*t bingo). Indeed, coining new concepts and expressions is what helps trendwatchers paying their mortgages. I was in San Francisco - home harbour of Silicon Valley - covering the web 2.0 summit last week. Al Gore was the Keynote Speaker this year... you can find some footage of this on my facebook page but it is great to see how he is still so dedicated to the cause. The recent victory of Obama would not have been possible without the Internet so why can't we use it to make this place a better and greener world? Anyway, enough of this social activism, here is my list of buzzwords with an attitude.

-Alpha geeks: entrepreneurial IT nerds
-Social Activism: using social software to spread your vision about ethical politics or the environment
-Sharism: A culture where people are willing to share their experiences by means of the internet
-The Intercloud: advanced form of cloud computing where everything is seamlessly integrated
-Everything-as-a-Service: infrastructure, services and applications on demand
-Connected collaboration: using web 2.0 and social software for enterprise collaboration
-Commercial Intelligence: harvesting and mining information that is created by UGC
-Widget Wednesday: spending 1/2 day a week to create new widgets for enterprise use
-Mickey the wiki: internal enterprise wiktionary
-Information Custodian: Institution that protects your digital (virtual) identity
-Consumerization of the enterprise: bringing the enterprise in the cloud
-The personal cloud: concept of immunity to protect your digital identity
-Synchronized Global Depression: Globalization of the recession (with thanks to Mr. Gore)

Like this list? Let me know as I have got another dozen up my sleeve...
