Data belongs to everybody

It's all about sharing these days - or the term I prefer: the new socialism. The internet and especially all web 2.0 related stuff has enabled billions of people to share whatever is on their minds. The Facebook effect resulted in a worldwide collaboration frenzy like we never saw before. In this "web as a platform" era, Internet-moguls such as Google, FB, Yahoo! and the like compete for the biggest critical mass.
But how big are these sites nowadays, they all claim to have X millions subscribers and users but are these numbers true?
